In the age of the Inquisition, legends abound of a Witches' Sabbath, wherein the practitioners of witchcraft gather to traffic with unholy forces. In exchange for forbidden knowledge and dark power, a witch may offer to ally herself with the Devil. Such a pact is sealed with a ritual wherein the supplicant receives "The Devil's Mark". Branded by the claws of Satan, the wound, which can never heal, serves as a testament to their eternal bondage.
