CG 01 Skaark Guardian Cruiser

Scale: Fleet (very nominally 1:10000th)

2 starships supplied.

Size (Bounding Box): 80.68mm x 15.28mm x 15.28mm

The CG 01 Skaark Guardian Cruiser seems to be a hybrid warship/escort vessel. The name is derived from an onomatopoeia (in xoqyax) of the sound of an electricity discharge.

The Skaark appears to be a more specialist vessel than the more commonly sighted CE 01 Jovinoox and Jovinoox Qen escort cruisers. On all but one occasion thus far, it has been seen flying escort with larger capital ships.

The Skaark mounts three XF-2 railgun turrets, the top one on a distinctive dorsal spire. Close analysis has determined that it mounts ten secondary weapons emplacements, six of which are believed to be XF-1 railguns, the remainder being lazers. This mix suggests the Skaark is more design for anti-fighter escort than anti-missile.

Unlike the Jovinooxes, the Skaark has a spinal particle beam cannon, with an estimated output of 2360TXq.
Finally, a lower ventral tube just below the GV coil array appears to be a rack for FG8081 Decoy Projection Units. Comparisons to the FL 02 Synkor Frigate suggest that the Skaark has a similar compliment of six of these devices.
The Skaark’s shielding is estimated produce around 1600TXq of output. The armour is somewhat lighter, with a projected AIC of around 600TXq.

The Skaark’s manoeuvring profile emphasises evasion over speed to enhance these defences. Four VN01785 engines are mounted, with the two upper engines more widely spaced than the lower pair. The upper two provide most of the thrust vectoring which grants the Skaark its 195 MEUs, while the lower inner pair provide most of the thrust and 14.5mc of acceleration.
