Those who weren’t sent tumbling into the waters below were melted in caustic bursts from the demon’s tide spewer. A lone sergeant bared his teeth in defiance as he met the lifeless gaze of countless eyes peering from the demon. A hammerhead grinning hungry teeth stood before him, daring him to lift his rifle. Snatched by the rusted talons of that foul thing before he could squeeze the trigger he was held aloft, and a final strike of lightning silhouetted the separating of that sergeant’s body, in the jaws of the abyssal dredge prince.
